My Role: In this sexy piece, I researched the talented women of hip-hop who rarely if ever receive the recognition they deserve not just as musicians but as trailblazers in beauty. From hair to makeup to nails, these creative sisters set trends in the inner city and the boardroom from Harlem to Hollywood and beyond. In an effort to ensure the piece was timely, I included current women in hip-hop who are also setting trends in beauty and style. I also pitched this story.
