The Project: The beauty industry is a lucrative multi-billion dollar business however Black and brown women are typically seen as consumers as opposed to founders. This reported listicle sheds light on ten successful beauty brands started and operated by women of color.
My Role: Since I greatly value the power of using my craft to help give a voice to the voiceless, I pitched this story. It is important that people become familiar with these marginalized yet resilient risk takers who are defying the odds to create potions and lotions for hair, nails, skin and body.
